Important Security Information!
It has come to our attention that unauthorized individuals may be e-mailing AmericanWest Bank customers in an attempt to illegally obtain personal information through a process known as Phishsing. These e-mails may ask you to visit a website to verify your "personal or billing information". These e-mails are very official looking and even feature the AmericanWest Bank logo. The "from" address could have a number of prefixes or aliases, such as awbservice@awbank.net, update@awbank.net, etc.; however, most of the e-mails will still utilize " . . . . @awbank.net". Be aware that these individuals have the capability to also send out e-mails utilizing other domains, such as awbank.com, americanwestbank.com, etc.; however these e-mails do not originate from AmericanWest Bank.
Please know that AmericanWest Bank will never ask you for personal information in this way, and you should never provide personal financial data, such as Social Security number, account numbers, PIN number, password, etc., to anyone with whom you have not initiated the communication. Phishing is commonly used by perpetrators of identity theft.
If you have already responded to this Phishing, please contact our Card Services department immediately at (509) 935-6155 or (800) 772-5479, option 8 to control possible fraud against your account.
If you have received such an e-mail, please disregard it immediately and do not respond to the request for information. If you ever question the validity of such an inquiry, please feel free to call your nearest AmericanWest Bank Financial Center.
