Text Message Security Concern

We are committed to protecting your privacy and providing all information associated with your AmericanWest Bank accounts. Please be aware that an UNAUTHORIZED text message scheme is in circulation that attempts to obtain information from bank customers.
If you receive a text message claiming to be from us, be extremely cautious. We do not contact customers using text messaging and anything you may receive is NOT official Bank communication.
More about this security risk:
- The focus appears to be on accessing information about customer credit cards and debit cards.
- The text message is likely to say something like this: “Dear Credit Union Customer, Your account with us has been locked please call 604-282-6370 to restore bank access.”
- The message may originate from phone number: 44797803021.
If you receive this message, or any text message claiming to be from us, please do not respond. This is an attempt to illegally obtain information about your accounts by sending counterfeit messages that appear to be from your financial institution.
